Dr. Richard Metz

Richard Metz, D.C., R.P.P., F.F.T,  graduated with academic honors from Western States Chiropractic College, in 1980. He is licensed to practice in both Oregon & California. He holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from Sonoma State University, has completed graduate level work in research psychology, also with academic honors, is a Registered Polarity Practitioner (R.P.P.), certified in Acupuncture Meridian Therapy, & of course, is a Fundamental Field Therapist.

A native of northern California, he has continuously operated a Chiropractic & Energy Medicine Clinic in Santa Rosa since 1985, where he developed the Fundamental Field℠ Theory & Therapy. In it, Dr. Metz has provided a theoretical synthesis of many scientific & healing disciplines. He has addressed both the physical & non-physical realms of our being, by uniquely showing how the two interface in a very methodical & practical way. He has utilized his knowledge to create a comprehensive form of energy-based healthcare which he continues to use & develop in the care of his patients.

In order to develop his Fundamental Field℠ Theory & Therapy, in addition to the above, Dr. Metz also drew from systems theory & physics. He has worked in electrical & general construction, & has been a statistical & research consultant, & a yoga instructor. His life experience & educational background have enabled him to approach his work with a unique combination of analytical thinking, intuitive insight & practical application. Over the years he has written numerous articles & presented seminars on his healing methodology to patients, students & colleagues. He has been constantly refining & broadening his scope over the years & the time has come to take this vital information to a larger audience!

When he is not working at the office, Dr. Metz spends time meditating, writing & relaxing at local restaurants & coffee shops, perusing antique/second-hand shops for interesting treasures, & working on small construction projects at home & with friends. He is most at home in nature, hiking & kayaking the hills & waters of beautiful Sonoma County. He usually maintains a very professional & serious demeanor while in the office, but on occasion he been known to surprise his patients by showing up to work, in costume, on many a Halloween Day. He has surprised his friends & family as well, showing up costumed, often with dance music in hand, at gatherings throughout the year. This often makes him the life of the party!

Maggie Begley

Maggie Begley, A.P.P., F.F.T, is a native of northern California. She graduated from Ursuline Catholic High School, the Santa Rosa Junior College (with an A.S. in Dental Assisting), & Sonoma State University (with a B.A. in Anthropology). After graduation, she continued at the University as an Administrative Assistant, working in an archaeology office on campus for 10 years. It was during this time that she became a patient of Dr. Metz. Although she had been receiving chiropractic care since the age of 12, it was then that she first heard of, & experienced the effects of, energy work. As a result, she became interested in learning more about it & what Dr. Metz was doing in particular.

In 1998, she left her position at S.S.U. to travel around the world for 5 months with her then-husband, in the hopes of producing a film documenting the ways in which people creatively & artistically express themselves. Upon her return in 1999, she put that project on hold & began working for Dr. Metz as his Receptionist/Office Manager. She continued on in that capacity until 2005.

Maggie was inspired, supported & encouraged by her experience in Dr. Metz’ Clinic to pursue her own self-healing, as well as her interest in healthcare & hands-on therapeutic bodywork. It is for this that she is truly grateful. She began her formal learning by taking Polarity Therapy classes in 1992. She became an Associate Polarity Practitioner (A.P.P.) in 2004 after attending the Berkeley Polarity Center.

She now works in conjunction with Dr. Metz in the care of his patients, as a Fundamental Field Therapist (F.F.T.). She also continues to work for him by collaborating & helping him to organize his material. She is uniquely qualified in that she’s been a patient of his, worked at the front desk & is now a practitioner herself.

When Maggie’s not working, she likes to spend quiet-time renewing at home or in nature. She also enjoys vegetarian cooking, dancing & listening to music of all kinds, & at times is also a bit of TV junkie. She forever maintains a strong love & affinity for the natural world, travel, people & creative expression of all kinds.
